Christian Formation

Our vision for Christian formation at Apostles Anglican Church is to “present everyone mature in Christ Jesus,” regardless of how young or old one may be in the faith (Colossians 1.28). We have been captured by the powerful story of salvation given to us in the Old and New Testaments, and we long to be discipled in the ways of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit through His word.

Apostles focuses on becoming a community that lives and relates to one another in the power of the Spirit.  At Apostles, there are 5 different ways for adults to participate in this direction for discipleship and spiritual growth:

Please read below to learn more about each Christian Formation ministry offered for adults. Also, find out our vision for children’s discipleship here, and discover what is happening in discipleship for our middle and high school students here.

Formation Groups

The heartbeat of Christian discipleship happens within community. Many Formation Groups (FGs) started a journey through The Apprentice Series, which helps Christians “apprentice” themselves to the way of Jesus. If you would like to join an FG beginning the Apprentice Series, please contact the leaders below:

Faith and Family Wednesdays

In 2010, Apostles began offering a new ministry for parents and children called Faith and Family Wednesdays. This gathering is designed to offer families an opportunity for authentic fellowship and discipleship. Look for the Fall 2012 schedule to be posted soon.

At 6:30pm, children, ages 4-10, are invited to attend The Shepherd’s Call–a contemplative approach to children’s discipleship. Also at 6:30pm, parents are invited to participate in Apprentice Series Formation Groups. Both parents and children’s groups will conclude no later than 8:00pm. Childcare will be offered for infants and preschoolers. If you would like to learn more about Faith and Family Wednesdays, please email Jack King, Vicar or Kaye Freels, Children’s Minister for more information.

Sunday Morning Class

Each Sunday Apostles offers a traditional Bible study that meets in the Library following our Traditional worship service.  These studies incorporate instruction and dynamic conversation from the Scriptures.  The Sunday morning class meets from 10:45-11:30 a.m. and serves as a wonderful complement to the Traditional worship service.  If you plan on attending our Traditional worship service, please make plans to attend the Sunday Morning Class when you attend worship at Apostles.
