Dear Apostles Family,
This Sunday we enter the liturgical season known as Ordinary Time (also known as the Season after Pentecost). This year we’ve realized just how precious the normal, ordinary routines of our lives mean to us. As our city continues its phased reopening, Apostles is taking further steps to resume our own ordinary routines.
Last night, I met with our Vestry and we approved three new steps in our reopening plan. The following changes will go into effect beginning this Sunday, June 14th.
- Eucharistic worship services will be offered at 8:45 and 11:15 on Sundays, and 12pm on Wednesdays
- Children’s ministries and childcare will be offered
- Video services will be live streamed
Eucharistic Worship Services
We believe it’s time to resume our normal schedule for Sunday worship. We will still offer a said and a sung Eucharist. Here’s the schedule for those services
- 8:45: Said Eucharist Service (no congregational singing)
- 11:15: Sung Eucharist Service
We will also resume our Wednesday Eucharist service. This service begins each Wednesday at 12pm. You do not need to submit an RSVP for the Wednesday Eucharist service.
We will still observe health, hygienic, and sanitation protocols in all worship services, including face masks. You may read these guidelines here
We are still observing physical distancing in these services, which limits our capacity to 50 persons. We need you to RSVP each Sunday to reserve your seat for the worship service you plan to attend.

Children’s Ministry
Our children’s ministry leaders are ready to welcome our children back to Apostles. Kaye Freels has prepared our childcare staff and volunteers with a thorough plan in keeping with the CDC and the Knox County Health Department. CDC guidelines do not require children to wear face masks while gathered in a children’s room.
Parents, please bring your children several minutes before the beginning of worship to go through our new procedures. If you wish for your children to receive holy communion, your child(ren) will need a face mask to enter the Nave.
Streaming Worship Services Online
Apostles will continue to offer online video of our worship services; however, we will livestream our sung worship service instead of posting a recorded version of the service. Our tech team has prepared well for this change. Please follow instructions in your Apostles’ email to find the livestream link for the service.
Most of all, please continue praying for the Lord’s work at Apostles. I believe it will be a great comfort for us all to resume our ordinary Sunday routine as we enter Ordinary Time. Don’t forget to RSVP for the service you plan to attend. We look forward to seeing you Sunday!
Peace
Jack
